For the second night in a row, a
little light snow is possible this evening. Much like last night's snow, accumulations are expected to be minor; they will likely also be somewhat
variable (depending on location) like they were last night.
For instance here are some snowfall accumulations from last night:
- Boulder: 0.2" (Awarded "Most Lame Accumulation")
- Longmont: 1.4"
- Denver: 1.6"
- Gunbarrel: 2.1"
- Niwot: 2.3"
- Lyons: 2.4"
The same range of possible accumulations are possible tonight: that is, anywhere from a coating up to about 2" in some areas*. Since daytime highs today were cooler than yesterday's and since temperatures at the moment are running a few degrees colder than they were this time yesterday, snow may have have slightly less "trouble" sticking than it did last night; (much of the first flakes that fell yesterday melted as surface temperatures were above freezing.)
*Note: high country (ski resorts) to the west may see 4-8" of new snowfall tonight with several more inches possible tomorrow.
