Snow is a Near Miss Yet Again!

In what's quickly becoming standard around here these days, the potential for snow that looked decent a few days out has all but vanished once again. Though Thanksgiving will bring temperatures nearly 30 degrees colder than yesterday's highs in the mid 60s, most of the moisture associated with a low pressure system will stay south of the Denver metro area.

While a couple of showers of rain or wet snow, especially during the afternoon or evening hours, cannot totally be ruled out, they're unlikely; even less likely (10% chance) is any accumulation of snow. I would be positively shocked if we see more than a coating under the best case scenario for snow lovers. The further south and west you go from Boulder/Denver, the higher the chance for seeing snow.

Now computer models suggest another ripple of low pressure may pay the area a visit late Friday into Saturday, but given the bleakness of this season so far, I certainly wouldn't hold your breath. Light accumulations are possible but it's too early to know for sure.

If we don't have measurable snow before the end of the month this will be the least snowy October/November period since records started being kept in 1888! Which, for all intents and purposes would mean the least snowy start to winter EVER. Ugh.
